Things to Do

photo

Golden, and Colorado in general, is one of our very favorite places! We are so excited to share it with you, and hope that during your time traveling for our wedding, you have time for a little exploration as well. See below for some of our recommendations and favorite things to do!

Lookout Mountain

With incredible views of Denver, Golden, and the Rockies- you have to check out Lookout Mountain! A short drive from the Golden area, that still gives you the incredible mountain views you hope for when you travel west. This mountain also houses the grave of Buffalo Bill, for a little touch of history too!

Red Rocks Amphitheater

Seeing as we had our engagement photos done at Red Rocks Amphitheater, we're sure it's not a shock that we recommend our guests go and see it! One of Colorado's most iconic landmarks - it's a naturally formed, open air venue that is carved between two massive red sandstone rocks. Less than a 15 minute drive from Golden, the Red Rocks offer breathtaking views and easy hiking trails. Even if you're not going for a show under the stars, we recommend checking out the scenery that feels out of this world!

Coors Brewery

They say “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” With that in mind - When in Golden, do as the 'Goldeners' do… and drink Coors! The birthplace of Coors beer, the Coors Brewery is situated right in the heart of Golden. We recommend doing the Hospitality Lounge experience. For $10, you get three 8-oz pours of your choosing, all of different Coors brews. This includes Banquet, Light, and even Blue Moon. And make sure you don’t miss the Ice Cold Coors that is exclusive to the tasting room…. the beer tap is an actual glacier!

The Golden Mill

A warehouse style eatery with something for everyone! Multiple food vendors inside serve everything from American, barbecue, and even sushi. Two self-service tap walls allow you to pour your own drink with selections ranging from a wide variety of beer, wine, and even a few cocktails. The Golden Mill is situated right off of Clear Creek River with incredible outdoor seating, offering awesome views of Golden while you enjoy your meal and drinks!

Places to Eat in Golden

There are too many incredible places to try to list where all you can grab a bite in Golden! Bobs Atomic Burgers is an incredible hole-in-the-wall, making some of the best burgers you’ll ever have. Once you place your order, you’ll be given a name of a celebrity, and when they call your celebrity’s name that means your order is ready! Woody’s Wood-Fired Pizza on the main drag is a must try. Not only do they have a full menu, they have the pizza and salad bar of your dreams. Think of the Pizza Hut of old, but way better! Seeing as it’s our wedding venue, we’re also partial to The Rose, with their incredible food offerings, and indoor-outdoor seating! You have to check out the Trailhead Taphouse & Kitchen, with their locally sourced menu and wide drink variety. Plus, they are a Packers establishment, which the bride loves! The Golden Diner offers an incredible breakfast, true diner vibes, to start your day off right! For a delicious cup of coffee, the Windy Saddle Cafe is absolutely divine!
